It’s currently 2:00pm on a Thursday. You’ve been grinding work (and coffee) out all week and you should feel so proud of getting this far. You’ve mastered your to do lists, you’ve rocked your presentation this morning, and you’ve spent time in meetings that could’ve been emails.
PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK 👏👏👏
Now I’m sure the rest of your day is blocked with meetings and calls, but you know what? You deserve a break.
With most of us working remotely, there’s barely any time between back-to-back meetings to go get a coffee refill, a water, or even take a restroom break. How would you feel if you took 15 minutes to yourself?
It’s so easy to get stuck on project after project without giving yourself any reprieve. I challenge you to lock your browser (after reading this blog 😉 ) and walk away from your computer. It’s okay… back away slowly if you must. Raise your arms up – get some stretches in – go make some more coffee – listen to a song you need to hear right now, read some of the new book you bought but haven’t opened yet and take a breather. Your future self will thank you for this.
Believe it or not: THE HIGHEST PERFORMING WORKERS TAKE BREAKS
Research says that the top 10% of productive employees tend to work, on average, 52 minutes before they take a break. Those breaks are about 17 minutes long. That means these employees are on break for nearly 30% of their workday!
WOOHOO!! That’s amazing how:
- they take breaks for themselves.
- their productivity and performance go up.
It’s a win-win!
Now stand up – smile – and go take your well deserved break!
☕️
